The Jordin Sparks Battlefield video is in support of the official lead single of the Grammy-nominated 19-year-old former American Idol and R&B and pop singer’s sophomore album which is set for release on July 14, 2009 on Jive Records/Zomba Label Group.

The Jordin Sparks Battlefield lyrics and music were written and produced by Ryan Tedder, frontman of OneRepublic and Grammy-nominated songwriter-producer and whose work with top music artists has produced a remarkable number of chart topping international hits, including the Timbaland/OneRepublic hit, ‘Apologize,’ and the Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ hit single.

Jordin Sparks debuted the new single in a live performance during season 8 of American Idol. The Jordin Sparks Battlefield video was directed by Phillip Andelman.

The highly anticipated album is a follow-up of her self-titled debut album, which was released in 2007 and certified platinum. Among the four hit singles the album produced were ‘Tattoo’ which reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and ‘No Air’ which peaked at No. 3.

Regarding the title track and the album in general, Jordin Sparks revealed her intentions in a statement which read in part:

“To me, the title ‘Battlefield’ is about strength and perseverance. Things can go from good to bad in an instant - it could be family, friendship or work - and my favorite line in the song is, ‘You better go and get your armor,’ because it’s telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it.

“I think the range of songs and topics on the entire album are ultimately about strength in life, love and in staying true to yourself,”

Along with Honor Society, Jordin Sparks is a supporting act for the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 which kicks off on June 20, in Dallas, Texas.
